Lord, today we unite with fellow Christians from many denominations and backgrounds, coming before you, asking you to help us. We humble ourselves, not only today, but every day. Hear our prayers, forgive our sins and heal our land. We have been proud and arrogant as individuals, families, churches and as a nation. You continually bless us, and we have taken your blessings for granted. You are so worthy of our love and devotion, but we have forgotten you and ignored your word. In this parable, a defenseless widow is all alone in an unjust world. All she has is her tenacity to go before an unjust judge. He keeps refusing to give her justice, but what makes this widow special? She won't give up! She keeps pleading.
