My Glorious Friends, the Beautiful Ones.

This blog contains snapshots of some fabulous people….I cannot include absolutely all my most favorite people in the world….but I did want to show some of the faces of my treasured friends as an example of the great breadth of God’s love.

When I was little, I prayed for you to come. I ached for true bosom friends, kindred spirits, souls to be intricately knit together by sharing, loving and living together. The lonely girl who laid in bed at night wondering where you were in the world, then during the day wandered the school playground feeling an emptiness that could only be filled by a friend.

I have found you.

“As for the saints who are on the earth, “They are the excellent ones, in whom is all my delight.””

‭‭Psalms‬ ‭16:3‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

God has given me the desires of my heart.

Some of you are so much like me. Others of you are my opposite.

Many are my elder, others much younger.

Some of you are my relatives by birth, others by birth in the kingdom.

I watch some of you from afar as you solider on in Jesus. (My friends on Facebook or those I have loved from years gone by.) Others I brush shoulders with on a daily basis. But, I have found the most valuable treasure in the hearts of the Saints of God.

You are truly beautiful. I love your heart. I love your sincerity. You are so completely different from everyone I know, but in all of my friends, the people of God, I see some similarities shining through.

The Holy Spirit of God bears witness with my spirit that your DSC_0739 2spirit loves him. I love it when we share our struggles and you don’t let me slip into despair. I love how you fight for the truth and fight for your relationships. I love how you lay down your life every day to be the glorious light of Jesus in a dark world.

My heart warms and overflows with admiration in the way you let Jesus work in your life. That one thing that is so hard for you to let go of…you would give it up for Jesus in a heart beat.  And it makes you a better person. In fact, you get better with every year that passes…you grow.

How can I say how I feel about you? When we pray together we are inexplicably drawn closer in Christ. When we work alongside each other, beautiful things happen to grow God’s kingdom.

Then other lives are touched. The spark flies into the kindling and a fire catches. The old is burnt up, the new comes.

Your life is a lighthouse, shining against the storm.

You presence is so important to me that when you are gone, I feel the ache of the loss.

And to those glorious saints across the globe, those friends and siblings I have never met or hugged or worked alongside, I love you, too. The Holy Spirit speaks to me that you are working hard, you are suffering under distress and you are breaking through dense walls of injustice.

You are not alone. The Saints of God partake at the table of the great cloud of witnesses. We are family, you and me. We are one in Christ. I delight in you. You are glorious.

What more can I say, but I love you…you glorious saints of God?! As I type this, my hearts puruses the past, present and wonders of the future. I remember the amazing work of God in your life and look forward to what he will do for you in the years to come.

You are great, you are excellent, you are noble, you are beautiful!

  1. Awww! You are one friend I’ll never forget. You helped lead me to Christ. I’m not sure where I would be right now if it wasn’t for you and your selfless dedication to the Lord Jesus Christ.
