We do not need to fear the enemy, including when he seems relentless and our defense doesn't seem to be working. Truthfully speaking, the enemy lost at the cross. He lost the war, but he doesn't like to give up in the battle. How much more should we, who won the war in Christ, not give up in the battle? Why do we say, "Oh well. Jesus won the war, so who cares if we lose this battle?"
Is This How We Pray for Others?
I am in the middle of writing a bible study on Colossians. I have been studying Paul's prayer for the Colossians. The first sentence of his prayer says it all — “For this reason, since the day we heard about you, we have not stopped praying for you...." Okay. So, Paul first hears about the …
Give Me Self-discipline, Lord!
A well quoted verse is 2 Timothy 1:7. The well known part of the verse is this: "For God has not given us a spirit of fear!" I have quoted this to myself and others for years — even decades. But, today it came to me with fresh eyes and revelation. Let's look at the …
Navigating Perilous Times
Friends, as you know, the United States is in a perilous time. The US Capital building was desecrated by an angry mob during the certification of the 2020 election results. Living in times where the fabric of our nation is unraveling, I frequently go to places of self-reflection in prayer. Clearly, the Lord has lifted his hand of protection from our land. “Lord, I know the big things that displease you- things like abortion, greed and perversions. (And this is in the church.) But, what …

40 Days of Prayer and Fasting – Day 16- Open Our Eyes, Lord!
Do you ever feel overwhelmed by bad news or surrounded by evil? When we are in a battle, it can feel like we are already defeated. But, as believers in Jesus, we aren't fighting for a victory, but from a place of victory.
