Sometimes pain can come on in an unexpected moment, such as when you step barefoot onto a sharp object, or when you suddenly lose a loved one. Other times, the pain is a deep ache of an old injury that resurfaces with a change in weather - or when your past emotional pain is triggered …
When it seems like our prayers aren’t being answered
We do not need to fear the enemy, including when he seems relentless and our defense doesn't seem to be working. Truthfully speaking, the enemy lost at the cross. He lost the war, but he doesn't like to give up in the battle. How much more should we, who won the war in Christ, not give up in the battle? Why do we say, "Oh well. Jesus won the war, so who cares if we lose this battle?"
Praying the Psalms – Psalm 20 Some Trust in Chariots and Horses
"Oh Lord, answer in the day of trouble. I am surrounded by distress. I find myself pressed in on every side by sickness, calamity, deception and loss. Lift me up to a higher place, oh Lord. Lift me up to a place of safety – you are my hiding place. Hear my prayer. Hear the prayers of those I love."
Urgent Call to Pray and Fast for Afghanistan
Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets …

The Encouragers
Some people in the body of Christ have a special gift to encourage. The first encourager listed in scripture was Barnabas. “Joseph, a Levite from Cyprus, whom the apostles called Barnabas (which means ‘son of encouragement’), sold a field he owned and brought the money and put it at the apostles’ feet.”Acts 4:36-37 Barnabas …
Is This How We Pray for Others?
I am in the middle of writing a bible study on Colossians. I have been studying Paul's prayer for the Colossians. The first sentence of his prayer says it all — “For this reason, since the day we heard about you, we have not stopped praying for you...." Okay. So, Paul first hears about the …
Give Me Self-discipline, Lord!
A well quoted verse is 2 Timothy 1:7. The well known part of the verse is this: "For God has not given us a spirit of fear!" I have quoted this to myself and others for years — even decades. But, today it came to me with fresh eyes and revelation. Let's look at the …
Judge Not? What Did Jesus Mean?
No one likes that feeling of being judged. It feels terrible to know that someone doesn't like you based on a decision or even just based on hearsay and gossip. Just not wanting to be judged is enough to make me not want to make anyone else feel that way! But, what did Jesus actually mean by judge not, lest you be judged? Well, as with anything we hear anyone say, we need to take it within the context of what he was saying at the time, as well as with what he taught consistently throughout his ministry. We also need to read it in the context of the full counsel of the Word of God.
Can Faith Be An Idol?
When faith is an idol, we believe we can’t admit we are scared or unsure or that perhaps we heard God wrong. If we do- this is unbelief and then God can’t do what we want him to do. This is a lie.
Can One Prophet Save the Nation?
So, I am kind of free-thought writing this tonight. I have a lot of thoughts and feelings on what is happening in our nation. For my international readers- that would be the USA. Leading up to the election and beyond, I have quietly mused and reflected on all that was happening in the spirit realm …
