If there were more than one way to heaven and if all religions worship the same God, why would God make Jesus be sacrificed in a horrific way on the cross and say it was the only way for salvation? Jesus himself said “I am the Way, the Truth and the Life and no one comes to the Father except through me.” The Pope is making a public campaign going against scripture and against thousands of years of church history declaring that all religions worship the same God and all who believe in “a god” need to join forces for peace. (Btw…Jesus said in the end that people would say ‘Peace! Peace!’ There is something significant about this, because Jesus himself is the prince of peace….so he is not against peace. There is a deception involved in the end times with a call for peace.)
The idea that all ways lead to heaven is not based on reality. This doesn’t even make logical sense to assert that all religions worship the same god. Many religions worship no god at all, but instead focus on becoming one with energy. Other religions claim thousands, and in some cases millions of gods. This cannot be true at the same time Christianity and Islam claim there is one God. Even then, Islam claims Jesus is not God’s son and that it is blasphemy to say that. Yet, Jesus claimed to be the great I AM that Abraham worshipped. It is purely illogical to take the stance many people take that all of these realities can exist at the same time. It is also a flat out heresy for Pope Francis to make this implication. He is leading BILLIONS of people astray. Not millions….BILLIONS!
As my husband put it, American values that allow people freedom to worship and get along with mutual respect comes from a Christian culture. Respecting and even loving your enemies is a teaching of Jesus. That is why we appreciate this type of harmony and safety, because we were raised in a nation that was founded on Christian principals.
If that is what the Pope was saying, that we should respect each other that would be great. But he is saying we all worship the same God/god which is a heretical deception.
Before you ask me, Who are you to question the Pope, I would ask you, who is the Pope to question God? And in history, men who stood in the role of high priest for Israel were condemned by God for leading the people into sin and deception. Jesus even said this about the religious leaders of his day (in all their pomp…)
“Then Jesus spoke to the multitudes and to His disciples, saying: “The scribes and the Pharisees sit in Moses’ seat. Therefore whatever they tell you to observe, that observe and do, but do not do according to their works; for they say, and do not do. For they bind heavy burdens, hard to bear, and lay them on men’s shoulders; but they themselves will not move them with one of their fingers. But all their works they do to be seen by men. So, a final warning, if you fear God, is to pray and ask God to protect you from deception and for his Holy Spirit to lead you into all truth. Read his Word, to be sure you are not deceived by those who would twist it. Many of the epistles in the New Testament give teachings and safeguards against the very deceptions that are in the pulpits of many (sadly) churches today.
