40 Days of Prayer and Fasting – Day 32 – Fearless

Hello, faithful prayer warriors! I’m so glad you joined me today. I am so proud of you. You are seeking the face of the Lord. Draw near to him. He loves you. He is proud of you. He will work in you and deliver you from evil. He will make his word known to you.

I want to give you some extra tips on fasting in this blog. I have been researching some ways to do a more extensive liquid fast. This week is the beginning of the high holy fall festivals of the Lord. The 18th is the feast of trumpets. Also, this week, the United States is signing the peace accord with Israel and the UAE. The Lord has laid it on my heart to approach this time with extra devotion.

I have sought the Lord on what he wants me to do. I have made my adjustments for the coming week. I encourage you, in the final stretch of the fast, to not lose heart. Be strengthened! Make a stronger commitment to fast. I am going to list several new ways to consider doing your fast.

Liquid fasts

  1. “Lemonade” fast- Squeeze fresh lemon into a glass of water. Add a little real maple syrup. (little, not a lot) and cayenne pepper. Drink it through out several days.
  2. Liquid fast- use the above suggestion. Include other liquids such as milk, almond milk, hot herbal teas.
  3. Chicken stock- Cook a chicken or vegetables in a pot with water. After it simmers for a few hours, add some more water. Salt to taste. Cook a little longer. Drink the broth and feed your family the chicken. 🙂
  4. Raw milk fast. Fill a large thermos with raw milk. Drink throughout the day, whenever you feel weak or hungry.

Daniel Fast

  1. Daniel Fast- Limit your solid food intake. Eliminate meat, milk and sugar. Just eat vegetables and some bread. This is for a longer duration of days, or for someone who is has health restrictions for regular fasting.

Water Fast

  1. Just drinking water and herbal tea for a given number of days.

Please consult a doctor if you have health conditions, or for any questions.

Time periods-

  1. Breakfast fast- Just skip breakfast and eat at noon. (This would be for a longer duration of days.)
  2. Fast till the afternoon- John Wesley wouldn’t ordain ministers to the church unless they would fast twice a week till 4pm. 4pm is a good time period to fast till.
  3. Fast from lunch till lunch.
  4. Fast mid afternoon till mid afternoon.
  5. Fast from 5pm till 5pm.
  6. 3 day liquid fast- Start at 3pm in the afternoon on Sunday and just have liquids till 3pm on Wednesday.

Friends, I feel a deep sense of urgency and seriousness when I tell you this today. Stand firm. Do not fear. Rest in the Lord. God will strengthen you, according to his mighty power. During this time of fasting- press into the Lord. Give him your attention. Be strengthened by these scriptures-

Proverbs 4

18The path of the righteous is like the morning sun,
    shining ever brighter till the full light of day.
19 But the way of the wicked is like deep darkness;
    they do not know what makes them stumble.

20 My son, pay attention to what I say;
    turn your ear to my words.
21 Do not let them out of your sight,
    keep them within your heart;
22 for they are life to those who find them
    and health to one’s whole body.
23 Above all else, guard your heart,
    for everything you do flows from it.
24 Keep your mouth free of perversity;
    keep corrupt talk far from your lips.
25 Let your eyes look straight ahead;
    fix your gaze directly before you.
26 Give careful thought to the[c] paths for your feet
    and be steadfast in all your ways.
27 Do not turn to the right or the left;
    keep your foot from evil.

Hebrews 12

Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow wearyand lose heart.

We need to lean into Jesus, friends. Fix your eyes on his love. Fix your eyes on his grace. He suffered such to redeem you for the Lord.

This is the comfort that Jesus gave his disciples when they were afraid right before he went to the cross.

Jesus Comforts His Disciples

14 “Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God[a]; believe also in me. My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you?And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. You know the way to the place where I am going.”

Jesus the Way to the Father

Thomas said to him, “Lord, we don’t know where you are going, so how can we know the way?”

Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. If you really know me, you will know[b] my Father as well. From now on, you do know him and have seen him.”

Philip said, “Lord, show us the Father and that will be enough for us.”

Jesus answered: “Don’t you know me, Philip, even after I have been among you such a long time? Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father. How can you say, ‘Show us the Father’? 10 Don’t you believe that I am in the Father, and that the Father is in me? The words I say to you I do not speak on my own authority. Rather, it is the Father, living in me, who is doing his work. 11 Believe me when I say that I am in the Father and the Father is in me; or at least believe on the evidence of the works themselves. 12 Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father. 13 And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 14 You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it.

Jesus Promises the Holy Spirit

15 “If you love me, keep my commands. 16 And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever—17 the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be[c] in you. 18 I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you.19 Before long, the world will not see me anymore, but you will see me.Because I live, you also will live. 20 On that day you will realize that I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you. 21 Whoever has my commands and keeps them is the one who loves me. The one who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I too will love them and show myself to them.”

22 Then Judas (not Judas Iscariot) said, “But, Lord, why do you intend to show yourself to us and not to the world?”

23 Jesus replied, “Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching. My Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them. 24 Anyone who does not love me will not obey my teaching. These words you hear are not my own; they belong to the Father who sent me.

25 “All this I have spoken while still with you. 26 But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you. 27 Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.

28 “You heard me say, ‘I am going away and I am coming back to you.’ If you loved me, you would be glad that I am going to the Father, for the Father is greater than I. 29 I have told you now before it happens, so that when it does happen you will believe. 30 I will not say much more to you, for the prince of this world is coming. He has no hold over me, 31 but he comes so that the world may learn that I love the Father and do exactly what my Father has commanded me.

“Come now; let us leave.

We fast because we are fixing our eyes on the one who loves us. We fast because we do not want to walk in fear. We fast, because we are asking the Lord to deliver us in our weaknesses. We fast, because we believe the Lord when he promises us to answer us and to give us breakthroughs. We fast, because God calls us to fast. We trust he knows what is best.

We serve a great and mighty God. He is good. “The God of peace will soon crush Satan underneath your feet.” Romans 16:20

Let’s pray-

Father in heaven, hallowed be your name. You are in heaven and we are on earth, but your arm is not too short to save. Lord, who is like you, just in judgments?! You are great and mighty. Lord, you do not treat us as our sins deserves. You are slow to anger, abounding in love. Yet, when you make a judgement, your judgement is just. I say amen.

I say amen to your decisions, Lord. I will not fear my Father’s judgement. I know I am under the blood of Jesus your son. You love me, Lord. I love you. You are so good. You have given such a great outpouring of your Spirit on my life. Pour it out, Lord. I love your presence.

Lord, your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Lord God, oh Father in heaven, build your kingdom in my life, in my family, in my church, in my town, in my county, in my state, in my country, in the world.

Lord, bring your kingdom. Lord, raise up more harvesters into the harvest field. You say the harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. I ask you to Lord to send me! Show me the harvest. Build your kingdom. Stretch out your hand to do mighty wonders so that many people can come to Jesus and praise your name.

Lord, I repent for my sin- all known and unknown sin. I ask that you develop the nature of Jesus in me. Build me up in my inner being that Christ can dwell in my heart through faith. Lord, show me what in my life doesn’t please you. Please deliver me from my sin.

I pray, as Daniel and Nehemiah did, that you will forgive the sins of my forefathers and all of their wickedness against you. I thank you, Lord, for not holding this sin against me, because of the sacrifice of Jesus Christ your son. I am not under the curse of my forefather’s sin, I am in Christ Jesus. I declare a new heritage. As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.

(Pray this aloud!) I forgive those who have sinned against me. I release them from my judgement and ask that you will heal my heart. Lord, heal me from emotional wounds and trauma. Lord, deliver me in the areas where the enemy the devil has been harassing me and attacking me from a place of hurt and pain, in the name of Jesus. I rebuke anger, pain, rejection, abandonment, failure and fear of failure in Jesus’ name. I command them to leave in Jesus name. I stand against a spirit that makes me feel unloved or unwanted or outcast in Jesus’ name. I command this evil to leave me in the name of Jesus. I forgive as Christ has forgiven me. I am released from the power of the enemy, in the name of Jesus. Lord, fill me with your Holy Spirit in these places where I have held unforgiveness and emotional wounding. Fill up the empty places, Lord. Overwhelm me with your love.

Lord, I pray for my town. I pray for my county. I ask for you to protect the area I live in with your holy angels. I plead the blood of Jesus over my area and over the people here. Break the power of the enemy over this area. Lord, send your legions of angels to do warfare here. Send your warring angels to fight to protect us and to shelter us. Command your angels concerning us, Oh Lord. I plead Psalm 91 right now. (Spend time praying this Psalm out loud to the Lord.)

Safety of Abiding in the Presence of God

91 He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High
Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress;
My God, in Him I will trust.”

Surely He shall deliver you from the snare of the [a]fowler
And from the perilous pestilence.
He shall cover you with His feathers,
And under His wings you shall take refuge;
His truth shall be your shield and [b]buckler.
You shall not be afraid of the terror by night,
Nor of the arrow that flies by day,
Nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness,
Nor of the destruction that lays waste at noonday.

A thousand may fall at your side,
And ten thousand at your right hand;
But it shall not come near you.
Only with your eyes shall you look,
And see the reward of the wicked.

Because you have made the Lord, who is my refuge,
Even the Most High, your dwelling place,
10 No evil shall befall you,
Nor shall any plague come near your dwelling;
11 For He shall give His angels charge over you,
To keep you in all your ways.
12 In their hands they shall [c]bear you up,
Lest you [d]dash your foot against a stone.
13 You shall tread upon the lion and the cobra,
The young lion and the serpent you shall trample underfoot.

14 “Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore I will deliver him;
I will [e]set him on high, because he has known My name.
15 He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him;
will be with him in trouble;
I will deliver him and honor him.
16 With [f]long life I will satisfy him,
And show him My salvation.”

Lord, I stand against a spirit of fear. I rebuke a spirit of fear and dread that is coming against me, in the name of Jesus. I stand against all of the devil’s tactics against me. No weapon formed against me shall prosper, in Jesus’ name. I break every curse, hex, or spell that has been spoken against me, my family and my church in the name of Jesus. I stand in Christ.

Lord, today I pray for you to expose corruption in the church. When you expose corruption here, we are able to repent and deal with it on earth, before we have to stand before you. I ask for you to expose corruption out of grace and mercy. Lord, when you expose corruption, your will can be done. (You know this, of course.)

Expose the sin in our youth in the church, Lord. It’s difficult, when we know what it could mean, but we pray that instead of letting our teens continue in sin and fall away from you completely, that you would allow them to come into the refining fire of the Holy Spirit. Bring their sin out into the open so they can be healed. Do not allow them to continue in destructive lifestyles. Lord, bring about a great cleansing of our teenagers. You love them so much. Forgive us for not raising them in the fear and admonition of the Lord. Forgive. Lord, even when I did my best, they have sinful natures. Lord, you are their God as much as you are my God. Redeem the teenagers and youth. Bring about a revival. Fill my children, the children in my church, the teens in the county and in the state and in the entire nation with a fear of God. Take their eyes off of their phones and devices and put them on you, oh Lord.

Save the teens that are addicted to horrific online content. Save the teens that have been programmed and wired by the world. Lord, you can do all things. Do this. Bring repentance and godly sorrow. I pray that when you expose the corruption that the adults in their lives will rise up in the grace and power of God to love these teens into a healthy place with the Lord. Give the adults in their lives grace, mercy, leading and power to deal with the sin that will be exposed, in Jesus’ name.

Lord, God. I humbly give you all of my cares, all of my fears, all of my anxiety. I cast it all on you, because you care for me. Raise me up to be the person you have created me to be. I want to live for you fearlessly, until Jesus returns. Amen.
