Call to Prayer and Fasting For Our Nation Guide

Lord, today we unite with fellow Christians from many denominations and backgrounds, coming before you, asking you to help us. We humble ourselves, not only today, but every day. Hear our prayers, forgive our sins and heal our land. We have been proud and arrogant as individuals, families, churches and as a nation. You continually bless us, and we have taken your blessings for granted. You are so worthy of our love and devotion, but we have forgotten you and ignored your word. We sincerely repent of our personal and national sins. We repent of the commission of the sins to include: Photo by Kelly Sikkema on Unsplash

The Goodness of God During the Coronavirus Outbreak

I asked the Lord, “What’s going to happen to the church?” I heard, “She will lift up her head. She will be refined, tested and tried, but will see God’s power in a brand new way. She will see the Lord’s provision and work in the middle of the trials.” I felt led to pray that the Lord will give us specialization to minister to people in the middle of the coming judgement and trial.

Praying the Psalms- Psalm 20 A Psalm of Assurance and Rescue

Before we begin to pray this encouraging Psalm, let's take a few minutes to look at some heart-swelling truths to focus our minds on Christ during trouble. In verse 1 in the NKJV, David pens, "May the Lord answer you in the day of trouble; May the name of the God of Jacob defend you;" If you read this passage and see the phrase "day of trouble," you may think that it is referring to one great big, terrible day, like a natural disaster. But, in the original language, this word day can mean a time period, which could even be a year, or a long period of time. You may be walking through a difficult trial without end in sight. During this wilderness, the promises in Psalm 20 about the character of God and his heart towards his people apply to you through your entire difficult journey. The NASB does a vivid job translating verse one in this way, "May the name of the God of Jacob set you securely on high." The Hebrew literally means that the believer is, "elevated so unassailably safe, beyond the reach of attackers; (figuratively) to enjoy maximum safety and security because inaccessible, i.e. removed from danger when the approach is (literally) too steep o climb; unassailable stronghold, lofty refuge." We live in desperate and dark times in our world, and in the United States of America. Every person is out to preserve his or her own life, yet so many people live in a lack of peace. Marketing is targeted at our selfishness. "Just do it!" "iPhone" "Ipad" "Self Magazine" Even names of products …
