21 Days of Prayer and Fasting – Day 21 Overcome!

They overcame by the word of their testimony and the blood of the Lamb.

Rev. 12:11

Congratulations! You made it to day 21 of your fast! Praise the Lord for his faithfulness to give us power to overcome.

Today, we will focus on the word overcome. In this world, you are either being overcome or you are overcoming.

1 John 5:4 says, “For whatever is born of God overcomes the world; and this is the victory that has overcome the world —our faith.” (NASB)

We are born of God, when we put our faith in his Son Jesus Christ. Our faith, the inward persuasion that is birthed in us as our eyes are opened by his Spirit through revelation, gives us victory over the world. The word “world” in this passage is the same Greek word used in Ephesians 6:12 “For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places.”

We overcome the thinking, oppression, lies and philosophies of this world in faith. In our spiritual battle, faith is the victory!

The word OVERCOME is NIKE in the Greek. Yes. This is the word that is the namesake of the sports clothing and shoe brand. The word literally means victory.

Romans 12:21 says, “Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.”

Do not let evil get the victory over you! How do you do this? Obtain victory over evil by doing the good works God has prepared in advance for you to do! By his Spirit, God has drawn us to himself and by his Spirit he brings about good fruit and power in our lives to overcome.

He may have found you as a wretched sinner in the mud of your sin, but he cleansed you by the blood of his Son Jesus, raised your dead spirit to life and filled you with the Holy Spirit of the living God. Walk in the goodness and victory of your salvation!

Revelation 17:14 “These will wage war against the Lamb, and the Lamb will overcome them, because He is Lord of lords and King of kings, and those who are with Him are the called and chosen and faithful.”

What an eye-opening passage of scripture this is! Jesus says that HE overcomes, not only because he is the Lord of lords and King of kings, but because he has an army of redeemed believers who are called, chosen and faithful!

If you are trusting in the Lord Jesus and have repented of your sin, and are filled with the Holy Spirit, you are called and chosen. Are you walking a faithful walk, to overcome with the Lamb? Are you living in his strength and not yours? You are in the battle with him! He considers you a trusted warrior, fighting by his side.

Do not look down on your position. Do not consider yourself a failure or a reject. You are chosen! You are empowered by the Spirit. Call out to him! Call out to the Lord and he will fill you with power.

Reject and overthrow the lies of the world that press against you. The discouragement and the fears are taunting you, but you can overcome them by the word of your testimony and the blood of the Lamb.

Testify to what the Lord has done in your life! Testify to your position in Christ! Stand in your position, as you are seated with Christ in heavenly realms, far above all rule, authority, power and dominion.

“Lord, God, thank you for loving me! Thank you that you overcame the world. You overcame sin, the cross, death and the grave. Thank you that you did all of this for me. I stand with you today. I stand with you, Lord, in the battle against the enemy.

I stand in your armor. I put on your armor, the righteousness of Christ and my salvation. I thank you for everything you have done for me to purchase my soul for God.

I trust in you. I know you are my strong tower. I am protected by your name. I overcome the gates of hell. They will not prevail against me, in Jesus’ name.

Fill me with the power of your Spirit to walk in your fullness, with you and with others in the body of Christ. May the remnant of your Body arise and crush the head of the serpent, in Jesus’ name.

Do what you prophesied to Eve, as the serpent is crushed under our feet, in the power of the Son of God.

Give me strength to fast and pray, and to continue in your work, Lord. Thank you for the strength you have given me. Thank you for your victory! I worship you, oh Lord. Your love endures forever. You are faithful. Make me faithful and battle-ready. Do a great continuing work in me, perfecting me in your love.

Your perfect love casts out my every fear. I hope in you, Lord. I bless your holy name! In Jesus’ name, Amen!
