The No Worry Prayer Habit

This is a quick post concerning prayer requests.

The Bible says we are to pray without ceasing. You are worried about a doctor’s visit? Pray. You have an exam you are stressing over? Pray. Your business is struggling? Pray. Your kids are having issues? Pray. Your bank account is short and you have bills to pay? Pray.

We are to live in an attitude of prayer constantly. The more we pray, the more we will see the power of God working in our lives. Why? God wants us to acknowledge that he is the one who is working. He wants us to humble ourselves before him so he can lift us up.

Do you know how many promises there are in the scripture concerning turning to The Lord in prayer? A LOT. Did you know that these promises aren’t just for a few select prayer warriors who have special prayer warrior cards? Did you know that God is so infinite, so powerful, and so omniscient that he can hear all the prayers going up around the globe at the same time as if you were the only one praying? He is focused on you. He is waiting for you to pray. He wants to hear from you and talk to YOU!

He wants YOU to be confident that when YOU pray for a test you have to take, that he is faithful to help you. If you ask for wisdom and believe that you will receive it, YOU will receive it. When you need prayer for God to remove stress from your life. PRAY! He hears you! Do you really believe he hears you?

He says, “Come to me, all ye who are weak and heavy laden and I will give you rest. ”

“Take my yoke upon you. My yoke is easy and my burden is light.”

Everyone of you reading this can find intimacy with God by being intimate with God.

Spend time alone with The Lord. Tell him all your thoughts. Ask him to speak to you and to reveal himself to you. Pick up the Bible. Ask God to speak through it.

I get desperate prayer requests from people that many times are pretty small things. I think to myself. “This is not a big deal at all for God. He hears this person. He will answer this prayer. I wonder why they don’t believe he will answer it?” There is no thing that is too small or too big for The Lord.

Occasionally, we get to a place where we are facing something that we need back-up on. These things like a cancer diagnosis, a death in the family, a marriage that is rocky, or other similar things try our faith and we may need the prayer support of someone who can support us when our hands of faith feel weak. We should never fail to reach out for support. God never intends us to be alone in desperate times. BUT, we should remember that our power in prayer is in Christ’s death and resurrection, not in our ability to pray a great prayer. In fact, when I have faced my greatest crosses to bear, when I have felt the weakest and the least able, THAT is when I have to get on my face and acknowledge that Jesus is Lord of all and that it is not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit says the Lord! It is by the resurrection of Jesus Christ that I can even get up off the floor when I pray. It is by the resurrection of Jesus that our prayers are answered and that we overcome the evil one.

So, start practicing trusting God in the little things. Start praying and draw confidence from the One we are praying to. He knows your name. He hears your cry. If you are not walking with him and are living in sin, all it takes in a heart that sincerely repents and cry out to Jesus’ forgiveness to make things right.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him and he will direct your paths!
